The San Diego Interventional Procedures and Complex Airway Center is the first comprehensive center for outpatient interventional procedures in San Diego County. Procedures will be performed in our surgery department which is staffed with RNs, Surgical Technicians, and a full time Anesthesiologist. The Center is led by Dr. David R. Riker, who is board certified in Critical Care, Pulmonary Medicine, and carries additional credentials and advanced training in multiple areas of interventional procedures.
San Diego Interventional Procedures and Complex Airway Center provides diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, along with consultations for all aspects of pulmonary and pleural disease. SDIPCAC is also currently one of two south of Orange County where Bronchial Thermoplasty treatment is available. This treatment helps patients suffering from severe asthma. The clinical outcomes data on Bronchial Thermoplasty suggest that the treatment is very significant in reducing morbidity, ER visits, hospital stays and work/school days lost.
